Careers Advice for Writers (under construction).

Hi, I'm Jess; I'm a writer and a careers advisor and this is Careers Advice for Writers.

I have over ten years' experience working in Higher Education Careers Services, and I also have a PgDip in Careers Education, Information and Guidance in Higher Education from the University of Warwick/The Graduate Futures Institute.

I'm also a professional author, with two degrees in English Literature and Creative writing, and I write as both a traditionally published and an indie/self-published author.

None of this means I have the answers for how to have a successful writing career, but it does mean I have some tools, techniques and tips to share that might help you think critically about your writing life and what you want it to look like.

Here you'll find my musings on those topics in writing, with some video versions if that's what you prefer.

The videos are currently all via TikTok, I'm afraid, but I am working on redeveloping them for YouTube (this will, as all things, take some time). (Actually it might need to wait until I move house because I currently live next door to a train line.)
